The Ultimate Cookie Recipe

I am very lucky to come from a line of amazing women that LOVE to cook and are SO good at it!  Unfortunately, I am NOT!  In fact, I don't even like to do it.  So you won't find me posting too many recipes, but these cookies are amazing in so many ways!!  And since all my projects have been on the back burner this week due to back to school preparations, I thought I'd share these with you.

I call them my Ultimate Cookies.

They are to die for, in fact I've had many neighbors and friends tell me they are the best chocolate chip cookie they have ever had!  Oh yeah!
They are quite delicious, but I LOVE these cookies because one batch yields 10 dozen cookies.  Should I say that again?! 10 dozen!!!  That doesn't even include the 10 cookie's worth of dough I eat along the way either!

Because I'm not a fan of nasty processed treats (like Twinkies), I mix up a batch of these about once every two months so my kids always have fresh, homemade cookies for their school lunches.

I do this by mixing up a batch, and freezing the dough.

So I mix all my ingredients, and try to refrain from getting sick on dough.
Quick side note:  you can pretty much add whatever you want to them.  For this batch I added chocolate, white choc., and butterscotch chips (per request from the kiddos).  But I have added reeces, nuts, m&m's, even cadbury eggs for Easter!!
Anyways, moving on...

I place small balls of dough on my cookie sheet very close together, but not touching

Then I stick them in the freezer for about 20 minutes

Next I take them off the sheets and place in a freezer bag.  I like to mark on the bag the cook time and temperature so I don't always have to look it up

Then I throw the big bag of dough balls into my large freezer!

Every Sunday night I pull out the bag and bake 1 dozen.  Because I have two kids in school,  I need 10 cookies per week for their lunches...perfect!  So they have fresh cookies every day for lunch!  And it only requires me making a batch every few months!!!
Another side note:  I have found that freezing the dough is far better than freezing baked cookies!
Here's the recipe, enjoy!!!
Ultimate Cookies
2 cups butter flavored Crisco
1 cup butter (softened)
6 eggs
2 3/4 cup sugar
2 3/4 cup brown sugar
1 Tbsp. salt
1 Tbsp. baking soda
3 Tbsp. vanilla
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder

Mix well and add 8 cups flour, then 3 cups chocolate chips (or anything you like!)
Bake @ 375 for 8-10 minutes.

  5. What a great idea! Unfortunately cookie dough doesn't last long around me. I would be popping those dough bites into my mouth (frozen or not!). Thanks again for linking up on Friday's Five Features!
