While I was decorating my porch for this lovely Fall season, I made this cute pumpkin topiary (I'm not sure what they are really called, so that's the name I picked for it!)
This project took me about 15 minutes, and cost about $35.
All of my supplies came from Wal-Mart. I used 3 plastic pumpkins, 3 autumn leaf garlands, and 3 small green pumpkin picks.
First, I pulled the top stems off two of my pumpkins, then hot glued them on top of each other.
Then I took the leaf garland and wrapped it around where the pumpkins glued together, gluing the garland in place where it needed it.
Next I took my small pumpkin picks and glued them on where I liked them. I only used 3, so I placed them all on the side I knew would be the front of my topiary
When I was finished, I drilled a small hole in the bottom pumpkin and attached a short dowel rod. Then I staked it into one of my existing pots on the porch:
Here is my porch, complete with my little pumpkin topiary!

Your topiary is great, and I love how you've decorated your porch!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Amy!
DeleteLovely! I'm impatiently waiting for my summer flowers to die off in my front pots so I can make a pumpkin topiary too. Thanks for the tutorial - now I know exactly how I'm going to attach mine together (much easier than I was envisioning).

Thanks Marie! But how nice that you have real flowers! :)
DeleteTerrific pumpkin topiary! I usually make mine out of real pumpkins but I like the idea of being able to have one ready-made and it doesn't rot! I like your other fall décor as well!
